"Check the Shaft Alignment." When sliding your blower wheel onto the new P257-8585 motor shaft, ensure the set screw is tightened directly onto the flat part of the shaft. If the set screw is tightened onto the round part, the wheel will eventually slip, causing a loud vibrating noise and potential motor failure. Always replace the run capacitor at the same time as the motor to ensure the 1/3 HP torque is maintained and to prevent the motor from running at excessive temperatures.

Had a power outage last night and during the 100 degree heat today noticed that the AC was not blowing any cold air. Pulled the capacitors to have them checked and also took video of the relay making noise even with the breaker was off. The proprietor and her staff were very friendly and helpful. She had the video analyzed and confirmed something was wrong. She checked one of the capacitors was a little low. Capacitor replacement is the biggest ticket item for HVAC repair.
