An old or "weak" capacitor will cause the motor to draw excessive amperage and run hot, leading to a shortened lifespan. Always install a new 5 MFD / 370V capacitor at the same time. Had a power outage last night and during the 100 degree heat today noticed that the AC was not blowing any cold air. Pulled the capacitors to have them checked and also took video of the relay making noise even with the breaker was off. The proprietor and her staff were very friendly and helpful.
